Rolls Incorporated now has two facilities, located just minutes apart, to better serve you our customers. Our main facility, located in Leighton, AL, exceeds 30,000 square feet and includes a complete lab for testing and devloping rubber compounds ... customer mixing facility ...machine shop for core fabrication and roll repair ...automatic and over head builders... and some of the best wet grinders available. With over 25 employees involved in all phases of roll building, including design, core construction, rubber applications, grinding, polishing to high surface finishes and special treatments that include all types of grooving patterns, various surface finishes and parabolic crowns. These skilled craftspeople are only limited by the liffting capabilities of our 10 ton cranes and equipment that will accept rolls up to 42" in diameter and up to 500" in length. Our second facility in Sheffield,AL is known has our Specialty Division. This plant's 20,000 square feet not only contains our urethane casting department and small rubber part molding department, but also gives us addtional square footage to assit our customers in many diffrent ways . The Specialty Division has been used in the past for anything from spare roller storage to refurbishing small equipment.

AT ROLLS INCOPORATED, WE PRIDE OURSELVES ON BEING LARGE ENOUGH AND DIVERSE ENOUGH TO HANDLE ALL OF YOUR ROLL NEEDS, YET SMALL ENOUGH TO CARE AND RESPOND WITH THE PERSONAL TOUCH OF A "HOMETOWN" BUSINESS
At Rolls Incorporated we pride ourselves on being able to supply our customers with a wide variety of roller elastomers. With our in house mixing facility and on staff full time chemist we are able to engineer a custom compound to solve many of the problems you might be having with your rolls. We offer everything from a simple SBR to premium custom compounded Fluorocarbon elastomers. Since Rolls Incorporated was started we have tried to keep our compound names as simple as possible. We use the common trade names for the base elastomer that way you always know what is going on our roll. One of the reasons that we do this is because we feel the base elastomer is not what needs to be secret; it is what we add to the compound that’s makes it special. One way to look at is to think about biscuits everyone that makes them and use the same base ingredients, but what separates one person’s biscuits from the other is that special touch and secret ingredients that they use.
What Elastomer is Right for You?
There are few ways that we can determine which compound is right for you. The easiest and quickest way to pick the compound is of course you just tell us what you want on the roll and that’s what we do. The next way we can figure what to put on you roll is to take a sample piece of rubber off your roll and send through our lab for reverse engineering. The way we feel is best is to let one of our sales engineers come in your plant and do a Roll Cover Needs Analysis. The reason we like the Roll Cover Needs Analysis is because we will look at all the factors the effect you rollers and determine which elastomer is best based on what we find. Yes we could just give you the same thing that you have always been using, but through our needs analysis we might be able to designyou a compound that could give you better run times in reducing your overall cost.
Elastomers We Provide
--Nitrile
--CSM
-- EPDM
-- Fluroelastomer
-- SBR
-- Carboxylated Nitrile
-- Neoprene
-- Silicone
-- Hydrogenated Nitrile
-- Natural Rubber
-- Ester & Ether Urethane
Characterized by its ozone, oil, weathering, light, and heat resistance in addition to resistance to corrosive chemicals, chlorosulfonated polyethylene , or CSM, is a good gerneral use high proformace elastomer. One of the most well known brands of CSM was sold under the Dupont trademark name of Hypalon untill June of 2009 when Dupont ceased production of Hypalon. In addition to is broad rage of resistnace to varous condtions CSM also has outstanding tear and tensile strengths over a wide hardness range. With specially in house devloped compounds we are able to alter some of the general characteristics of CSM like giving the compound a little higher tempurture range and a lot better release properties. Some common roll applications for CSM include coating rolls, ironing rolls and treater rolls in the film industry.

For an oil and/or solvent roller compound, it is hard to find anything better than Nitrile. Other properties inherent in the polymer or that can be easily incorporated in the compound make Nitrile the workhorse of roller compounds. Nirtile or NBR is known for its resistance to aliphatic hydrocarbons(e.i. naphtha, gasoline, and mineral spirits) and linseed oil based fluids. NBR's resistance to tear, abrasion, and compression set can be good if compounded correctly. It's chemical resistance in mild acids and bases is also good. Based on these charactoristics and it's cost effectivenss makes Nitrile a goods choice for a verity of application including: applying inks and coatings, offset printing, pulp and paper, and handeling materials such as metals, wood, and textiles.

Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer (EPDM) Is know for its resistanace to ozone, polar solvents and high tempuratures. EPDM also has outstanding charactoriztics in acids, as well as baes, and caustics. Generally speaking EPDM has poor resistance to oils based on hydrocarbons and to fuels. In the roller industry EPDM sees a vast range of uses, but some of its main applications are in coating and laminating where the roll will see high tempuratures and harsh chemicals.
